How much equipment belongs in a resting pose?
A baker and a garden worker both need tools, but the body still has to read.
A useful tool tells us what a character does. Several tools can also cover the hands, waist or feet that explain the pose.
Looking at these two new standing characters, I would first check the gaps around the carried objects, then the relationship between the feet and the body. Texture can wait until the pose is clear.
When you draw a working character, do you choose the necessary object before the costume, or leave it until the silhouette is settled? These are static images; an animation would need its own motion checks.
